Playing For Change, the multimedia company responsible for the popular ‘Songs Around The World’ video series, has announced it will host WE ARE ONE, a concert benefitting the Playing For Change Foundation and celebrating 10 years of positive change through music. Former NBA player and NBA Cares Ambassador Felipe Lopez recently traveled with the United Nations Foundation's Nothing But Nets campaign to Dajabon, Dominican Republic to help fight malaria. There, he met with officials from the National Center for Tropical Diseases Control within the country’s Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance to learn about the progress made toward malaria elimination on the island of Hispaniola. He also met with community health workers, civil society organizations, children and families affected by malaria. Nia Long To Fight Malaria in Tanzania With Nothing But Nets

In a few weeks, actress Nia Long and her son Massai Dorsey Jr. will travel to Tanzania to support the United Nations Foundation's Nothing But Nets campaign in its global fight against malaria. They will visit one of the world’s largest refugee camps to see the impact of malaria firsthand, meet with refugee families, and distribute insecticide-treated mosquito nets that help keep families safe from the disease. Former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon Joins The Elders

The Elders are delighted to announce that former United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has accepted their invitation to join the group. Ban served two full terms as Secretary-General from 1 January 2007 to 31 December 2016, succeeding Kofi Annan who is the current Chair of The Elders. During his time in office, Ban helped spearhead the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals and worked intensively to secure the Paris Agreement on climate change in December 2015. He also successfully pressed for the creation of UN Women as part of his wider advocacy for equality for girls and women.
